Q: Why do I see error in all of the data fields?
A: There are a couple of reasons you could see this issue
1. You must be logged in with administrative privileges to monitor your local host
2. If you were actively monitoring a remote system, it may have gone off line.
Q: I am logged in with administrative privileges, but the Process Time reports an error
A: Use must disable the Vista UAC for the computer, by navigating to the Control Panel > User Accounts. Click on the Turn User Account Control on or off link, uncheck the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer.
Q: Why is dVUE3 Pro slow to respond to mouse over and/or invoking Options menu?
A: Increase the dVUE Pro’s Collection Interval, longer refresh cycle enhances responsiveness. This is true when running multiple gadgets.
Also this may occur if the remote target computer goes off line. If this occurs the data fields will report error in all data fields.
Q: Why can’t I connect to a remote target computer?
A: There could be a number of reasons for this issue,
- If the remote target computer has ICMP Ping enabled
- Ping the system by hostname, if you receive Ping request could not find host <host name>
- Try pinging by IP Address
- Use the remote hosts IP address in the Remote Target Computer field, if the ping responds
- If you cannot ping the remote computer Ping is not supported or it is offline.
- Invalid domain/username/password, you need administrative privileges to connect to a remote computer.
Q: Why can’t I select remote target computer and enter the local host’s name and credentials
A: Not supported at this time
Solution: Login with administrative privileges, run dVUE3 and select localhost.
Q: Why did my dVUE3 gadget stop updating and reports error in all data fields
A: The remote target computer or your local computer was disconnected from the network. Once the connection is restored, the gadget(s) will begin to refresh.
Q: What Operating Systems are supported for WMI monitoring?
A: dVUE was tested against the following platforms
- Windows Vista
- Windows XP
- Windows 2000
- Windows 2003
Q: Does dVUE3 Pro support IPv6
A: Yes, the Remote Target Computer field supports IPv6 and IPv4 addresses
Q: Can I monitor Remote Target Computers when I am not logged in with administrative privileges?
A: If you are not logged into the local computer with administrative privileges, you can monitor remote hosts when you supply administrator credentials for the remote target computer.
